Privacy Policy
That is not a slogan — it is how the software is built, and this page is the specific version of it. Below is every piece of information the CADAKAY BIM Chest can send, exactly when it is sent, and what it can never send.
The Chest runs entirely on your computer. It sends nothing at all unless one of three things happens: you ask for a license key (or start the free 7-day Knight trial), you press Send on a problem report, or you switch on usage statistics yourself. Your Revit models, drawings, families and project data are never transmitted, in whole or in part, under any circumstances.
There are exactly three occasions. Nothing else in the product communicates with us.
When you request a key, we receive the email address you type, so we can send the key to it. If you buy a paid tier, our payment provider also gives us your name and billing email to attach the license to. When you activate a key, or start the free 7-day Knight trial, the Chest sends a machine identifier and your computer's name — nothing else.
| Collected | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | To deliver your license key and support your account |
| Name (paid tiers) | To identify the license holder |
| Machine identifier | A value derived from your computer (not its hardware serial), so a key works only on the computers it was activated on, and the trial is given once per computer |
| Computer name | So you can tell your computers apart in your license's device list |
If the Chest hits an error, or you use the feedback button, a report is prepared and shown to you in full before anything is sent. It is sent only when you press Send. If you close the window, nothing leaves your machine.
| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| Message | What you typed |
| Error detail | The technical trace of the failure, if it was a crash |
| Tool name | Which tool was running |
| Chest version, Revit year, license tier | To reproduce the problem on the right build |
| Windows user name | To recognise repeat reports from one person |
| Machine identifier | A value derived from your computer, used to match the report to your license seat |
| Reply address | Only if you enter one, so we can reply |
The Windows user name and machine identifier are the only personally identifiable items here, they are shown to you in the report before you send it, and you can choose not to send.
The Chest can record which tools you open, so we know which parts of the product are worth improving. This is switched off by default. It records to a file on your own computer, and it is only transmitted if you turn the setting on in Royal Steward.
What is sent is deliberately identity-free: a tool name, a timestamp and the Revit version. It carries no name, no email, no machine identifier, and nothing about your projects. Switching the setting off stops it immediately.
Royal Herald lets an AI assistant you already use read your model and carry out work in Revit. It runs as a local connection on your own machine between Revit and your AI client. We do not receive, see, store or route any of it — not the questions, not the answers, not the model data.
Your AI assistant is a separate product from a separate company, chosen and installed by you. What it does with what you send it is governed by its privacy policy, not this one. If you use a cloud-based assistant, your model information travels to that provider under your agreement with them.
We use three service providers. Each is bound to protect this information to the same standard set out in this policy, and none of them receives anything beyond what is listed above.
| Provider | What they handle |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosts our website and stores license records |
| Resend | Delivers license and support emails |
| Polar | Processes payments as merchant of record |
We never see your payment details. Card and billing information is entered with our payment provider and is never transmitted to us or stored by us.
We do not use advertising networks, analytics trackers or third-party SDKs inside the software, and we do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone for marketing.
License records are kept while your license is active and for as long as we are required to keep sales records. Problem reports are kept while the problem is open and are removed once resolved. Usage statistics carry no identity, so they cannot be traced back to a person.
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email support@cadakay.com and we will act on it. Deleting your license record ends the license.
The Chest is professional software for building design. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
If this policy changes, the revised version appears here and the date below changes with it. A change that materially affects what we collect will be announced to license holders by email before it takes effect.
